India’s largest plastic waste recycling plant has been inaugurated in Surat, Gujarat, marking a major step towards sustainable waste management. The facility, operated by the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) in partnership with private firms, can recycle up to 200 tons of plastic waste per day. The plant will convert non-biodegradable waste into reusable industrial materials and fuel. Officials expect the initiative to significantly reduce landfill dependency and promote a circular economy.
